Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump during his recent address at the Israeli Knesset, calling his comments “irresponsible and shameful.” In a formal statement, the ministry accused Washington of moral hypocrisy and complicity in Israeli actions against Palestinians.
The statement described the United States as “the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism” and “the main backer of the terrorist and genocidal Israeli regime.” It said that Washington lacks the moral authority to accuse Iran of wrongdoing while supporting what Tehran calls Israeli war crimes.
Response to US Allegations on Nuclear Program
The ministry also dismissed repeated U.S. claims about Iran’s nuclear program, labeling them as false and politically motivated. It stated that such accusations are intended to justify joint U.S.-Israeli actions against Iran, rather than to promote peace or stability.
Iran reiterated that its nuclear program is peaceful and monitored under international agreements, adding that Washington’s allegations “cannot legitimize aggression or threats against Iranian sovereignty.”
Accusations of Complicity in Israeli Actions
Tehran’s statement further accused Washington of direct and indirect involvement in Israeli military operations in Palestine, including the targeting of civilian areas. Iran alleged that the U.S. has consistently obstructed accountability efforts at the United Nations Security Council, protecting Israel from international scrutiny over alleged war crimes.
The ministry claimed that the U.S. has supported military strikes on residential zones and civilian infrastructure, which, according to Iranian officials, have resulted in thousands of deaths, including women and children.
Iran also condemned President Trump’s repeated claims of seeking peace and dialogue in the region, calling them inconsistent with Washington’s record of military intervention. The statement concluded that the U.S. cannot act as a mediator while it continues to arm and support Israel’s military campaigns.
The remarks mark another escalation in diplomatic tensions between Tehran and Washington, as both countries continue to exchange accusations over Middle East security and human rights.
