A late-night altercation at a short-term rental property in South Dallas ended in gunfire on Monday, leaving four men hospitalized, according to the Dallas Police Department. The incident took place just before midnight in the 5400 block of Bexar Street, an area with several rental listings used for short stays.

Police said that what began as an argument among acquaintances quickly escalated into violence. Multiple gunshots were fired during the confrontation, injuring three men. A fourth man was later treated for injuries sustained during the altercation.

Officers responding to emergency calls arrived at the scene to find the first victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Two other men later arrived at local hospitals one with a chest wound and another with a leg injury. About an hour later, a fourth individual sought treatment for non-gunshot injuries related to the same incident.

Authorities confirmed that two of the injured men have been identified as suspects and are expected to face criminal charges once they are released from medical care. Police have not disclosed their names or the exact charges being considered.

Preliminary findings suggest that the shooting stemmed from an argument among people who knew each other. Investigators are now reviewing evidence from the scene, including shell casings and witness statements, to determine how the altercation unfolded.

The property, reportedly rented through a short-term vacation platform, was secured by police for several hours as forensic teams gathered evidence.

The incident has renewed concerns about disturbances at short-term rental homes in residential neighborhoods across Dallas. Local officials have previously debated tightening regulations on such properties to address noise, overcrowding, and safety issues.

As of Tuesday, all four men remained hospitalized in stable condition. The Dallas Police Department’s Assault Unit continues to investigate the case.
