Families of Israeli hostages have appealed to US President Donald Trump to stick to his proposed deal to end the Gaza war, just ahead of his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The families say the deal represents the best hope of securing the release of loved ones held in Gaza.

Relatives of those still held captive by militant groups displayed posters and staged demonstrations in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, urging Trump not to abandon the plan. Many carried photos of their missing family members, underlining the human cost of the conflict.

“The hostages cannot wait any longer,” one family representative said. “Every day matters. We ask the president to keep his word and push this deal forward.”

Earlier this month, Trump outlined a proposal aimed at halting hostilities in Gaza and securing the release of Israeli hostages. The plan includes steps for reducing violence, ensuring humanitarian aid, and starting negotiations on a longer-term ceasefire.

While the details remain confidential, sources suggest the deal has support among hostage families, though some Israeli officials remain cautious about its terms.

Trump is scheduled to meet Netanyahu in Washington on Monday, where the Gaza conflict and the fate of hostages will dominate discussions. Israeli officials have said that any deal must balance humanitarian concerns with national security.

Analysts believe the pressure from hostage families adds urgency to the talks. The families’ movement has grown into a visible voice in Israel, demanding that leaders prioritize the safe return of captives over military escalation.

The Gaza war has left thousands dead and displaced, with hostages continuing to symbolize the deep human suffering on both sides. Families say they will not stop pressing leaders until there is concrete action.

“Our message is simple,” another spokesperson said. “Do not let politics come before human lives.”

With global attention focused on Washington, the meeting between Trump and Netanyahu may determine whether the proposed deal advances or stalls, leaving families in continued uncertainty.
