Actress Denise Richards has addressed the public for the first time since being granted a permanent restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, saying she is “doing good” and focusing on healing after a difficult year. The order, issued on November 7, will remain in effect until 2030, legally preventing Phypers from contacting her or coming within 100 yards of her home or workplace.

Richards, 54, spoke briefly about the situation during a panel appearance at BravoCon, where she admitted that navigating such an intense legal matter in the public eye has been “very daunting.” She added that sharing only a small part of her experience publicly has been emotionally draining, but she feels supported and relieved now that the court has made a firm decision.

Richards filed for divorce in July 2025, ending nearly six years of marriage. In court documents and testimony, she alleged several incidents of abuse, stating that she feared for her safety. Among her claims were repeated threats, physical altercations, and multiple injuries, including concussions. Phypers has strongly denied all accusations, insisting he never harmed her and calling the allegations “completely false.”

The legal battle escalated earlier this year when Phypers was arrested on felony charges, including injuring a spouse and attempting to dissuade a witness. He was later released on bond. His legal team maintains that Richards’ statements are exaggerated and part of a “misunderstanding,” but the court ultimately sided with the actress by approving a long-term protective order.

Richards told fans that leaning on close friends, family, and professional support has been essential. “I’m doing better now,” she said, emphasizing that her priority is protecting her peace and well-being as she moves through the divorce process.

The case has drawn significant public attention, highlighting how deeply personal struggles become magnified for celebrities. Richards willingness to speak openly about her experience has also brought renewed focus to the importance of domestic-violence protections and the strength it takes to seek them, especially in the spotlight.
