Comedian Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer are facing a wave of speculation about the state of their marriage, but sources close to the couple say the rumors of a divorce are overblown. According to insiders, the pair is still together and quietly navigating the kinds of challenges common in any long-term relationship.
The couple, who married in 2018 and share a six-year-old son named Gene, recently drew attention after Schumer noticeably slimmed down, cleaned up her social-media feed, and sold several properties. These changes sparked a flood of online theories that the pair was preparing to separate. Some fans also noticed Schumer had removed older Instagram posts that featured Fischer, adding more fuel to the gossip.
However, people familiar with the situation say that the two are not heading for a split. Instead, they are focusing on co-parenting and managing their family life away from the public’s intense curiosity. Sources describe the pair as “working through normal issues,” noting that Fischer’s autism, something Schumer has openly discussed in past interviews, can sometimes create communication challenges, though not ones the couple cannot handle.
Schumer also addressed part of the speculation herself. She explained that her Instagram purge and physical transformation were the result of an ongoing health journey. The comedian has previously shared her struggles with endometriosis and Cushing syndrome, conditions that affected both her emotional and physical well-being. She clarified that the recent changes were about getting healthier, not about ending her marriage.
The couple has always kept their relationship relatively private, choosing a quieter family life over Hollywood-style publicity. That privacy, however, also means that gaps in public appearances often turn into tabloid speculation.
Despite the rumors, those close to the pair insist that Schumer and Fischer remain committed to their marriage and their son. While they may be facing challenges, sources say the couple is handling them together, not heading toward divorce.
