Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States and Western nations of obstructing progress in nuclear negotiations. Speaking in Tehran, Araghchi said that if former US President Donald Trump had reviewed the meeting records with envoy Steve Witkoff, he would have understood how close both sides were to finalizing a new and historic nuclear agreement.

In a post on X, Araghchi cautioned that while “buildings and machines can be destroyed,” Iran’s national resolve remains unshaken. He emphasized that “continuing down this path of miscalculation will solve nothing,” urging diplomatic engagement over confrontation.

The Iranian minister accused Israel of trying to divert attention by fabricating a “false threat” concerning Iran’s defensive capabilities. He said the failure of what he described as Israel’s “adventure” has led to new attempts to create fear around Iran’s military and nuclear advancements. Araghchi reiterated that “there is no solution other than a negotiated settlement.”

Araghchi reaffirmed that Tehran remains committed to a fair and balanced diplomatic resolution to its nuclear file. He criticized Western governments for what he called “unreasonable” and “excessive” demands that have stalled talks. According to Araghchi, Iran has repeatedly demonstrated its willingness to cooperate within the framework of international agreements, provided that mutual respect and compliance are maintained.

During his meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign missions in Tehran, Araghchi addressed recent actions at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He condemned the reactivation of the “snapback mechanism,” a process that reimposes sanctions on Iran. Araghchi described the move as politically motivated and contrary to the spirit of previous negotiations.

Iran continues to call for renewed diplomatic engagement, stressing that durable peace and security in the region depend on dialogue rather than coercion. Officials in Tehran maintain that the only viable path forward is a negotiated settlement that respects Iran’s sovereignty and regional stability.
