India has issued a sharp warning to Pakistan after controversial remarks by Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, who allegedly suggested that his country would use its nuclear capabilities if pushed to the brink. Speaking during his U.S. visit, Munir reportedly said that Pakistan is a nuclear nation and would “take half the world down” if it faced collapse.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi condemned the comments, calling them “reckless, war-mongering, and hateful.” Officials said such statements are deeply irresponsible for a nuclear-armed state and go against the spirit of peace in the region.

India’s Strong Response

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal warned that any misadventure from Pakistan would lead to “painful consequences.” He stressed that India remains committed to regional stability but will take firm action to protect its sovereignty and security. The statement was also aimed at sending a clear signal to the global community about the dangers of such provocative rhetoric.

Pattern of Provocation

Indian officials believe that this is not an isolated incident. They pointed out that Pakistan’s leadership often resorts to aggressive anti-India narratives to divert attention from domestic problems. By stoking tensions, they said, Pakistan tries to create a false sense of national unity while avoiding accountability for its internal challenges.

Global Reaction and Context

Munir’s remarks have drawn international concern, especially because they were made on U.S. soil. For India, the statement was not just an insult but a warning sign of Pakistan’s unpredictable nuclear posture. The MEA urged the global community to take note of such statements and ensure responsible behaviour from nuclear powers.

Firm Stand for Peace

While India reiterated its commitment to peace and dialogue, it made it equally clear that its patience has limits. “We will always prefer diplomacy, but we will never compromise on our national security,” the MEA said.
