Bristol Palin has shared a new update on her ongoing struggle with facial paralysis, nearly a year after first revealing her condition, and her latest message shows that recovery has been far slower and more difficult than she expected. Palin, who has been open with her followers throughout her health journey, described the current state of her face as still “crooked,” saying the left side has not fully returned to normal despite months of treatment.

Palin first noticed symptoms in early 2025, waking up with an unusual pulling sensation on one side of her mouth before the left side of her face went numb within hours. Doctors suspected Bell’s palsy, a temporary form of facial paralysis often linked to stress, fatigue, or viral infections. Her scans and tests reportedly came back normal, leaving the exact cause uncertain, but not uncommon for conditions like this.

In the months that followed, Palin shared hopeful signs of progress. She regained some sensation and partial movement, and she tried a wide range of treatments from prescribed medications and steroids to acupuncture and other alternative therapies. But the improvement has slowed, and she admitted in her Thanksgiving update that she is still dealing with noticeable facial asymmetry and discomfort.

While she expressed disappointment, Palin also spoke honestly about how the experience has changed her perspective. She said she has stopped worrying about cosmetic perfection and now simply wants her face to function normally again. Her message was emotional but steady, reflecting both frustration and acceptance as she continues adapting to an unpredictable recovery timeline.

Her openness has drawn strong support from followers who appreciate her candid approach to a condition that is frequently misunderstood. Many people assume facial paralysis heals quickly, but Palin’s experience highlights how recovery can stretch on for months or even years, with no guaranteed outcome.

By sharing her struggles, Palin hopes to offer comfort to others dealing with similar conditions and to remind the public that these health challenges often involve setbacks as well as progress. As she continues her recovery, she says she is focusing on patience, gratitude, and taking each day as it comes.
